Screampoint's 5D SMART City is the Technology Platform for Kansas City's Gigabit Challenge

Screampoint is proud that 5D SMART City is the Technology Development Platform for the final selection of The Gigabit Challenge, to be held 18 January 2012 in Kansas City. This first of its kind event will be highlighted by presentations from United States Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS), Vint Cerf, Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist at Google, Mayor Sly James of Kansas City,Missouri and Mayor Joe Reardon of Kansas City, Kansas. The Gigabit Challenge is a global business plan competition to find disruptive ideas that will turn the tech industry upside-down and change the world. The Gigabit Challenge is focused on unique applications that are enabled by Google's first-in-the-nation 1 Gigabit Fiber network, being implemented in Kansas City. The Grand Prize is valued at $100,000, with a $250,000 "Born Global Prize", and will be the first application to work on the Google Fiber Network
